Search options
The Search options page lets you control the default filters and sorting on your storefront's listing browse page — the category filter, the price slider, and the built-in sort options. Not every marketplace needs a price slider — so you can turn each one on or off.
Custom field filters & sorts
Filters and sort options built from your custom listing fields are configured per field on the Listing fields page, not here. This page only controls the default, built-in filters.
Open the Search options page
- Go to Sites in the admin panel
- Click on your site to open its Home page
- In the sidebar, expand Build → Listings and click Search options
Permissions
Only team members with permission to update a site can change its search options. See Account settings for team roles.
Category filter
Toggle the category filter to show or hide the category navigation in the listing browse sidebar. When enabled, visitors can browse listings by category. When disabled, the category list is hidden.
Price filter
Enable the price filter to let visitors narrow results to a price range. When enabled, a price slider appears in the browse sidebar, bounded by the minimum and maximum prices you set.
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Minimum price | The low end of the slider |
| Maximum price | The high end of the slider (must be greater than the minimum) |
The slider uses your site's configured locale and currency, so prices display in the right format for your audience.
Both bounds are required
When the price filter is enabled, you must provide both a minimum and a maximum price. The maximum must be greater than the minimum.
Sorting
Choose which sort options visitors can use when browsing listings. Each option can be toggled independently:
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| Newest | Most recently created listings first |
| Oldest | Longest-standing listings first |
| Lowest price | Listings ordered by price, ascending |
| Highest price | Listings ordered by price, descending |
The first enabled option becomes the default sort visitors see when they open the browse page.
What if no sort options are enabled?
If you disable every sort option, the browse page falls back to showing the newest listings first automatically — so your marketplace always has a sensible default order.
What visitors see
Every setting applies to your storefront the moment you save — there's no separate publish step:
- The category filter adds or removes the category list in the browse sidebar
- The price filter adds or removes the price slider
- The sort options control which ordering choices appear in the sort menu
